Just after Lincoln County residents finished digging out of a late week storm, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued yet another weather alert for the weekend.
A Winter Weather Advisory issued Saturday morning warns that 3 to 6 inches of snowfall is expected beginning in Saturday afternoon and continuing overnight. The heaviest snowfall is forecast for the early morning hours of Sunday, according to the NWS.
Once the snowfall tapers off Sunday morning, gusty winds from the northwest will move in for the rest of the day, according to the NWS.
The unsettled weather is part of a much larger system that is bringing considerable snowfall to areas south of Lincoln County. The system is forecast to track south and east of Maine, only giving Lincoln County a grazing blow, according to the current forecast.
The Lincoln County News will continue to follow the progress of this event and post any additional information here as soon as it becomes available.
