Members of Wiscasset’s Bradford-Sortwell-Wright American Legion Post commemorated Veterans’ Day with a brief ceremony, held at the armed forces memorial in front of the town’s municipal building Nov. 11.
Led by Coast Guard veteran Pastor Wally Staples, Wiscasset Legion members honored all those who have served the United States in the armed forces.
Staples read from a letter written by President Obama extolling the virtues of American veterans everywhere.
Those who were in attendance at the ceremony were invited afterwards to take a break from the cold weather over coffee and donuts at the Wiscasset Legion’s headquarters on Rt. 1.
