Kris Sliker, 57, of Wiscasset, has been arrested for the third time in six weeks after allegedly making phone calls from Two Bridges Regional Jail to a witness involved in Sliker’s second arrest.
Officer Paul Rubashkin arrested Sliker at the Wiscasset jail April 26, according to the Wiscasset Police Department. Sliker has been in custody since he was arrested April 15 on charges of aggravated furnishing in scheduled drugs, tampering with a witness, and violating conditions of release.
According to police, the witness in the April 15 incident reported he has received no less than six separate phone calls from Sliker at the jail, where Sliker is being held on $10,000 cash bail.
Sliker was initially arrested by Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline March 12 for allegedly selling a marijuana joint to a 16-year-old male.
Sliker was arrested again April 15 after a witness informed Cline that Sliker provided marijuana to the same juvenile April 14. The witness alleged all three individuals subsequently smoked the marijuana at Sliker’s residence. The witness also alleged that Sliker had caused the juvenile to write a letter recanting his original statement regarding his purchase of a joint from Sliker.
Rubashkin confirmed the alleged phone calls had been made through the jail’s telephone system, and confirmed the bail conditions from the April 15 arrest were still in effect, according to Wiscasset police.
According to Wiscasset police, when Rubashkin followed up with Sliker at that jail, Sliker indicated he did not know the conditions existed.
He was subsequently charged with another count of violation of conditions of release and remains in custody at the Two Bridges Regional Jail.
