A jury found Jonathan W. Doray, 34, of Wiscasset, guilty of the misdemeanor crime of shooting domestic animals Aug. 13 in Lincoln County Superior Court.
The charge stems from the Christmas Eve 2011 shooting of four domestic geese in the village of Sheepscot near the Alna-Newcastle town line. Three of the geese died.
The incident deeply upset the village residents who care for the flock.
Justice Jeffrey Hjelm ordered Doray to pay a $750 fine and $160 in “surcharges and assessments” for a total of $910, according to court documents.
