Wiscasset police have arrested two men in conjunction with the burglary of a West Alna Road home, Jan. 26.
According to Officer Adam Temple, Christopher L’Heureux, 25, allegedly stole a $600 flat screen television from his neighbor’s residence. Upon arriving at the scene, Temple was able to follow footprints made in the snow from the victim’s residence directly to L’Heureux’s home, linking him to the crime.
The owners of the television were away in Florida at the time of the burglary.
William Dunning, 23, was simultaneously arrested in conjunction for the burglary. According to Temple, Dunning allegedly informed L’Heureux the neighbor’s house was empty and could be targeted for a burglary.
L’Heureux and Dunning live together at the same residence.
“When it comes to burglaries, that was one of the easier one’s I’ve had,” Temple said.
L’Heureux was charged with one count of burglary, a Class B felony, and released on $5000 bail from Two Bridges Regional Jail.
Dunning was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit burglary, a Class C felony. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Lewiston Police Department charging him with negotiating a worthless instrument.
Dunning was released on $2500 bail from TBRJ.
