The Wiscasset Police report the following activities from the previous week:
Oct. 27, Officer Bayha responded to a non-reportable accident on Rt. 1, assisted Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department with attempt to locate for suspicious activity on Rt. 1, and investigated an accident that occurred on Rt. 1.
Oct. 28, Lt. Allen responded to an accident that occurred on Rt. 1 and responded to a medical emergency on Shady Lane.
Oct. 29, Lt. Allen responded to two medical emergencies on Gardiner Rd. and assisted probation and parole with compliance check at the police department.
Oct. 30, Officer Simmons provided well-being check on Rt. 1, responded to erratic operation and issued warning for operation on Rt. 1, and received complaint of criminal mischief on Bradford Road, and provided citizen assist on Rt. 1.
Oct. 30, Officer Williams investigated report of shoplifting by juveniles at business on Rt. 1, made service of paperwork on Ward Brook Rd. and on Rummerill Rd., responded for an unwanted subject on Bumpa Lane, and investigated a traffic accident that occurred on Gardiner Rd.
Oct. 30, Officer Don Smith issued a verbal warning for speeding and a motor vehicle defect on Main St.
Oct. 31, Officer Don Smith responded to an unattended death on Hemlock Rd., responded to a burglar alarm at the high school, investigated a domestic dispute on Willow Lane. Officer Mike Smith assisted Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department by stopping vehicle with no headlights on Rt. 1 and escorted driver to Bradford Rd. Officer Simmons responded to a residential burglar alarm on Rt. 1, responded to suspicious activity on Rt. 1, and provided property check on Rt. 27.
Nov. 1, Officer Walsh investigated report of suspicious vehicle parked on Birch Point Rd., responded to a domestic dispute on Lowelltown Rd., responded to a loud music and noise complaint on Heritage Lane.
Nov. 1, Officer Simmons investigated an accident that occurred on Rt. 1, issued summons for allowing dog to roam at large on Gardiner Rd., and stopped motorist for motor vehicle defect on Gardiner Rd.
Nov. 2, Lt. Allen investigated a non-reportable traffic accident that occurred on West Alna Rd., assisted citizen with motor vehicle lockout at the community center, and provided property check on Bradford Rd. Officer Simmons received calls of erratic driving on Lowelltown Rd., made a warrant arrest for Wiscasset District Court at Two Bridges Regional Jail, and received police information on Bradford Rd.
On Nov. 2 Officer Simmons arrested Richard Perry, 19, of Boothbay Harbor on a Wiscasset District Court warrant for failure to pay fines.
On Oct. 28 Lt. Allen investigated an accident that occurred on Rt. 1 involving Brandi R. Cothran, 24, of Damariscotta, Elizabeth A. Tilton, 23, of Boothbay Harbor and Deborah A. Fox, 54, of Damariscotta. Fox, headed south, was slowing down in traffic. Tilton, behind Fox, was slowing down. Cothran, traveling behind Tilton, did not slow down and hit the back of Tilton which pushed Tilton into the back of Fox. Damage to Cothran’s 1999 Saab (registered owner Jesse Tavares) estimated at $7000. Damage to Tilton’s 2004 Jeep SUV estimated at $3000. Damage to Fox’s 2007 Volvo estimated at $500.
On Oct. 30 Officer Williams investigated an accident that occurred on Gardiner Road involving Matthew D. Smith, 18, of Jefferson and Derick L. Dupont, 18, of West Gardiner. Both vehicles were headed south when Smith slowed down to make a left turn onto Clark’s Drive. Dupont could not stop in time and hit Smith’s vehicle in the rear end. Damage to Smith’s 1996 Oldsmobile estimated at $800. Damage to Dupont’s 2000 Mercury estimated at $5000.
On Nov. 1 Officer Simmons investigated an accident that occurred on Rt. 1 involving Bruce M. Benner, 50, of Wiscasset and Sidney J. Morin 16, of Wiscasset. Benner was southbound and went into the turn lane to pass a vehicle that was turning into Irving Mainway. Morin observed the vehicle turning into Mainway and started into traffic from Mainway onto Rt. 1, northbound, crossing in the path of Benner who was unable to stop in time to avoid striking Morin’s vehicle in the side. Damage to Benner’s 2001 Lincoln estimated at $1000. Damage to Morin’s 1998 Chevrolet pickup (registered to Danny Morin) estimated at $500.
