The Wiscasset Police report the following activities from the previous weeks:
Dec. 20, 2010, Lt. John Allen responded to local business for a bad check complaint. Because the alleged offense actually occurred in Dresden, Lt. Allen referred the matter to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
Dec. 20, 2010, Reserve Officer Jason Warlick provided a citizen assist with a locked vehicle.
Dec. 20, 2010, Reserve Officer Jason Warlick issued a warning for failure to stop at a stop sign.
Dec. 20, 2010, Reserve Officer Jason Warlick investigated a complaint of harassment on Gardiner Road.
Dec. 21, 2010, Officer Alfred W. Simmons attempted to locate a vehicle reported to have taken out a sign at the MacDonald’s on Rt. 1. Officer Kathy Williams responded to domestic disturbance on West Alna Road.
Dec. 23, 2010, Officer Kathy S. Williams responded to a non-reportable traffic accident at the Maplewood Trailer Park on Gardiner Road.
Dec. 27, 2010, Officer Alfred W Simmons reasoned to a domestic disturbance call. Lt Allen investigated Criminal Mischief complaints at the Wiscasset School annex building.
Dec. 30, 2010, Lt. John A. Allen investigated a reported stolen 21-speed Cannondale bicycle from a garage on Loweltown Road.
Dec. 23, 2010, Lt. John Allen investigated an accident that occurred on Indian Road around 6:40 a.m. Robert N Reed, 78, Edgecomb, was operating a westbound 2009 Nissan four door sedan west on Indian Road when the vehicle entered a sharp curve, slid off the road and struck a tree causing an estimated $5000 damage to he vehicle. Reed sustained lacerations to the hands and the face.
Dec. 23, 2010, around noon, Joseph E. Ashton, 49, Wiscasset, operating a three-axle single unit 2002 Mack truck owned by Pine Tree Waste Inc. was turning left on Huntoon Hill Road from Fowle Hill Road. A 2006 four-door Hyundai sedan, operated by Deborah S. Basinet, 49, was traveling north on Huntoon Hill Road. While Ashton was negotiating the turn, Basinet went over the center line and ran into the side of Ashton’s truck causing $2000 damage to the truck and $6000 damage to the Hyundai.
Dec. 27, 2010, while Melanie Hibbard’s 1996 Chevrolet SUV was parked in the Wiscasset Shaw’s parking around 6:45 p.m., the vehicle sustained a dent and scratches to the driver’s side door and mirror. Hibbard, 32, Edgecomb, noticed the damage when she returned home. Damage is estimated at $1100.
Jan. 1, Leisa V Sampson, 43, Wiscasset was traveling northbound on Rt. 1 in a 2006 four-door Subaru when a deer struck her left front fender. The deer spun down the left side of the car, impacting the driver’s door and continuing down the left side, ripping the bumper cover off. The officer dispatched the deer. The Suburu sustained $850 damage. Officer James Road investigated.
Dec. 31, 2010, Darren J Hills, 30, Augusta, was arrested for Operating While License Suspended or Revoked.
Dec. 29, 2010, Darren A. Goodwin, 35, Phippsburg, Mass. was arrested for violating conditions of release.
Dec. 30, 2010, Jason Beal, 20, Swanville, was arrested on a warrant out of Waldo County for Failure To Appear.
