Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline reported that his department had a strong presence at the Wings Over Wiscasset event on August 6. “It went very smoothly and we saw no problems at all,” he said.
On July 31 Chief Cline stopped Marcus Gonzalo Garcia Lopez, 35 of Monroe, N.C. on a complaint. While conducting an interview, Lopez admitted that he had been here in this country illegally for 13 years. Lopez said he applied for a VISA in 2005 but was denied. Cline detained Lopez until the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agency picked him up. Lopez is being held at Cumberland County Jail awaiting a hearing.
On Aug. 1 John Knutson, 60, of Rockport, was summoned for failure to stop at a stop sign on Lee Street.
On Aug. 1 Bryce Leavitt, 56, of Woolwich, was summoned for speeding on Bath Road.
On Aug. 5 Robert Grenier, 38, of Augusta, was arrested for possession of scheduled drug (heroin) and operating after suspension.
On Aug. 5 Stephan Andrews, 51, of Mt. Vernon, was summoned for speeding on Bath Road.
On Aug. 7 Matthew Grannell, 41, of South Portland, was summoned for speeding, 41 mph in a 25 mph zone.
On Aug. 7 Eric Wyman, 28, of Bath, was summoned for an expired inspection.
On Aug. 7 Chengwei Lin, 32, of Garden City, N.Y., was summoned for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk on Main Street.
On Aug. 8 Cynthia Spear, 48, of Boothbay Harbor, was arrested for violation conditions of release.
On Aug. 8 Patrick Trayers, 20, of Bremen, received a criminal summons for an unregistered motor vehicle and summonses for an inspection sticker violation and failure to show proof of insurance.
On Aug. 10 Dawn Holbrook, 40, of Augusta, was summoned for speeding on Federal Street.
On Aug. 10 Tina Smith, 40, of Wiscasset, was summoned for speeding of Hooper Street.
On Aug. 10 Walter Whitcomb, 61, of Waldo, was summoned for speeding on Federal Street.
On Aug. 10 Kari Jones, 22, of Nobleboro, was summoned for speeding on Federal Street
On Aug. 10 Jessica Stone, 31, of Moodus, Conn., was summoned for speeding on Federal Street.
On Aug. 12 Randolf Dodge, 43, of Burnham, was arrested on two warrants out of Somerset County. Charges include a domestic violence assault and a violation of bail conditions.
On Aug. 3 an accident occurred on Bath Road involving Freeman Geyer of Trevett and Edda Bailey, 76, of Lisbon Falls. Geyer was pulling out of Ames Supply. Traffic on both sides of the Bath Road stopped to let Geyer pull out. Bailey did an improper pass around the stopped vehicle and struck Geyer as he pulled out. A passenger in Geyer’s vehicle, Mary Baker, 64, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
On Aug. 6 an accident occurred on Bath Road near the Lincoln County Courthouse involving Lena Spangenberg, 89, of Brunswick and Adam Carlsen, 18, of Rockport. Carlsen was stopped in traffic and was hit from behind by Spangenberg.
On Aug. 8 a hit and run accident occurred at the Lil’ Mart parking lot on Bath Road. Kasey Leavitt, 22, of Wiscasset left his 2004 Taurus parked at the Lil’ Mart parking lot because of a flat tire. A surveillance video showed that a pick-up truck hit the vehicle during the night. The owner of the truck has not yet called to report the accident.
