Ben Rines, Judy Colby, and Jeff Slack will stay on the Wiscasset Board of Selectmen following the election of municipal officers at the annual town meeting by referendum Tuesday, June 14.
Rines received 493 votes, Colby 450, and Slack, a write-in candidate, 92. Bryan Buck, who launched a write-in campaign after learning no one had turned in nomination papers for a seat on the board, received 68 votes.
No names appeared on the ballot for seven vacant positions on the Wiscasset Budget Committee. Bob Blagdon, Buck, Slack, Ervin Deck, George Green, and Robert Pontau all received two to four votes as write-in candidates. The individuals will have to accept the positions before their membership on the budget committee becomes official.
Michael Dunn was re-elected to the Wiscasset School Committee with 502 votes. Jason Putnam, who announced a write-in campaign after no one turned in nomination papers for one of two seats on the committee, received 48 votes to win the second seat.
Ed Kavanagh and Dean Shea were running unopposed for two seats on the Wiscasset Water District Board of Trustees. Kavanagh was elected with 482 votes; Shea was elected with 505 votes.
