Wiscasset residents will no longer have to go to board and committee meetings to know immediately what is going on. Beginning Tuesday, July 7, a live stream of the Wiscasset selectmen’s meetings and other town board and committee meetings will be available.
Town Hall Streams will host the live streams of the meetings and on-demand playback of the meetings for at least one year after the meeting has been recorded.
The town will pay $250 per month, a total of $3,000 per year, for the service. To watch a meeting, go to http://townhallstreams.com and select Wiscasset from the drop-down menu.
The selectmen’s meetings and some other board and committee meetings previously appeared on Lincoln County Television a few days after the meeting and online indefinitely. Visitors to LCTV’s website can watch Wiscasset meetings as far back as December 2010.
Last year, the town donated $6,000 to LCTV. The Wiscasset selectmen voted against donating to LCTV this year.
