The Wiscasset Town Office is currently unable to conduct business due to lightning striking the office’s computer server during the Thursday, May 28 thunderstorm, administrative assistant Kathy Onorato said. The town office will remain closed for the remainder of the day, Friday, May 29.
Residents are encouraged to go online for services such as car registrations and hunting and fishing permits.
The town website was unaffected by the lightning-struck server, however, the town office will be unable to conduct business until the server is fixed. The server is currently undergoing maintenance. The town office hopes to be open for business on Monday, but that will depend on server repairs.
