After months of searching, Lt. John Allen of the Wiscasset Police Dept. is pleased to announce the hiring of Jason Warlick as the town’s newest full-time officer. Warlick, 31 of Bowdoinham, was previously a reserve officer for Wiscasset, Damariscotta, and Waldoboro.
“He brings enthusiasm and a desire to learn,” said Allen. “He also will be a good member of the community.”
Warlick, who brings to the job numerous certifications including cold-water rescue, also served as a full-time corrections officer for Two Bridges Jail, Allen said.
“I’m ecstatic,” Warlick said. “This was a goal I set for myself 10 years ago.”
Warlick had been through numerous hiring processes in the past and been short listed many times, he said.
“I was always in the top three,” he said. “This is a great opportunity, I’m proud and honored to be a part of the department and the Wiscasset community.”
Allen said Warlick will start sometime in the middle of March and attend an 18 week Maine State Police Academy starting in August.
“In addition to many other talents, Jason has a good rapport with youth,” said Allen. “I look forward to working with him on a full-time basis.”
