Wiscasset Town Manager Laurie Smith will be resigning from her position as of Feb. 7, 2014 to take a position as town manager of Kennebunkport, according to Wiscasset Town Office staff.
Smith was not immediately available for comment.
Smith started as town manager for Wiscasset in the summer of 2010. Previously Smith held a variety of positions with the city of Auburn, including assistant city manager and interim city manager, and served as town manager of Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, and Oxford, according to The Lincoln County News archives.
With Smith’s resignation, Wiscasset will join Waldoboro in a search for a new town manager.
John Spear submitted his resignation as town manager of Waldoboro on Nov. 12 to take a job as the administrative assistant for South Thomaston. His last day will be Friday, Dec. 13.
