A Wiscasset woman on probation for a March 30, 2014 assault outside a Wiscasset bar faces new charges after allegedly assaulting a man at a Wiscasset gas station Dec. 13, 2014.
The Wiscasset Police Department arrested Jade E. Robbins, 25, of Wiscasset, on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence assault and a probation violation in Wiscasset Jan. 20.
Robbins called the department Jan. 20 and said a male household member had assaulted her, Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline said. Police investigated the complaint. During the investigation, the man said Robbins had assaulted him Dec. 13 at the Irving station in Wiscasset.
The man told police he did not report the assault when it happened because he knew Robbins was on probation and did not want to get her in trouble, Cline said.
The police department obtained video footage from the gas station that shows Robbins slapping the man, Cline said.
According to Cline, Robbins said the man had assaulted her in the car before entering the station.
Robbins’ accusation remains under investigation, Cline said. He said he is working with the district attorney’s office to determine if there is enough evidence to file charges against the man.
Robbins pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault in August and is serving a year of probation for a March incident in Wiscasset.
According to The Lincoln County News archives, Wiscasset police arrested Robbins after she assaulted a woman outside the bar of the Schooner Inn in the early morning hours of March 30.
On Aug. 4, Robbins pleaded guilty to class D misdemeanor assault and was sentenced to 364 days in jail, all suspended, with one year of probation and a $300 fine.
