The woman driving a Ford van that left the roadway and struck a tree near the entrance of Damariscotta Lake State Park on June 27 was transported to the hospital for injuries, according to Jefferson Fire Chief Walter Morris.
The van had left the road leading into the park and struck a birch tree down off the road’s shoulder. The airbags in the van deployed, Morris said.
The page for emergency responders went out at around 3:26 p.m. and personnel arriving at the scene found the woman already outside the vehicle and on the ground, Morris said.
Jefferson first responders stabilized the woman and Waldoboro EMS transported her to Miles Memorial Hospital for unknown injuries, Morris said.
The identity of the driver was not immediately known.
