Just a short drive from in town Damariscotta, a winding driveway leads through stone pillars and up to the gracious oak-shaded home overlooking rolling fields, an apple orchard and the meandering river.

Here at Oak Gables you’ll enjoy a delightful view from every vantage point, and the serenity of the setting will carry you back to a time of unhurried leisure. The grounds include a 20′ x 40′ pool as well as a boathouse perched over the river.

Oak Gables is within strolling distance of downtown Damariscotta’s small antiques stores, gift shops, restaurants, cafés, art galleries, bookstore and movie theatre. There is also a place to rent kayaks. You will surely enjoy the essence of this true Maine coastal town.

Guests staying in the Main House are served a generous breakfast each morning. After breakfast, you might like to sit out on the front porch, take a dip in the pool, or simply relax under the umbrellas by the pool. In the spacious living room, you’ll find many reading materials as well as cable TV.

A delightful experience awaits down at the boathouse. You’re welcome to sit on its 14 x 16 foot deck and enjoy the sight and sounds of a variety of birds as you watch the tidal Damariscotta River wind its way through the peaceful beauty of the Maine countryside. Inside the boathouse is a tournament-quality ping-pong table.
