Animeals helping Meals on wheels recipient’s pets stay healthy too. The following words are heard time and time again from Meals on Wheels (MOW) participants “If Meals on Wheels didn’t deliver dog and/or cat food I would be giving my meal to Tootsi or Friski. After our Meals on Wheels volunteers noticed a growing number of program recipients giving their food away to their furry friends, Spectrum Generations started applying for grants, working with pet stores, pet groups and community members to add free to dog and cat food packages to consumers meal deliveries.
Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center located at 521 Main Street in Damariscotta is accepting donations of dog and cat food and pet toys to ensure that homebound pet parents can enjoy a happy and plentiful Thanksgiving with their pets. To help out please consider dropping off an item or two or three between now and November 21, 2016. Thanksgiving pet care packages will be distributed to MOW Animeal program participants on November 23.
Checks should be made out to Spectrum Generations with a notation for LC’s Animeal Program and mailed to 521 Main Street in Damariscotta.
