An evening lantern lit tour will explore Boothbay Harbor, discovering ghosts and history, spirits and mystery. Buildings that once seemed ordinary will take on eerie new dimensions as The Lady in the Red Cloak relives their history and that of the ghostly entities that are said to still reside there. The walks are fairly easy and appropriate for all ages; by reservation only. $15 for adults, $7 children under 12, free children under 5. 207-380-3806, www.redcloakhauntedhistorytours.com.

June is a special time to celebrate America’s and Maine’s Great Outdoors. What started as Great Outdoors Week under President Clinton in 1998 has grown significantly under both the Bush and Obama administrations into a month-long celebration of the outdoors and all the benefits it brings. Take a healthy step towards enjoying Maine’s great outdoors by joining Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center’s Advanced Professional Senior Fitness Instructor and Trainer for an “It’s All About Walking” workshop on June 16 at 8:30 a.m. Put on your walking shoes and meet Robin at the Damariscotta Mills Fish Ladder Fish House (Route 215 in Nobleboro).
Walking is an ideal type of exercise when you’re just getting started. You can go as fast or as slow as you need. It’s easy to bump up your pace and go longer distances as you get better. Spring IS the perfect time to join Robin for a lesson in walking for exercise and fun! Register and come to Robin’s class to learn how you can turn walking in the great outdoors into a workout. Participant Fee: $5 for community members who are new to Robin’s fitness program. To register call 563-1363. Rain date Thursday, June 23.
