Sen. Chris Johnson, D-Somerville, will hold his monthly office hours at three locations around the region:

· Waldoboro Public Library, 958 Main St., Waldoboro, from 9-10 a.m.

· Sherman’s Maine Coast Book Shop & Cafe, 158 Main St., Damariscotta, from 10:30 a.m. to noon

· Treats, 80 Main St., Wiscasset, from 12:30-1:30 p.m.

These office hours are routinely held by Johnson to connect with residents and provide an opportunity to conveniently discuss opinions and concerns directly with him. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Johnson represents Senate District 13 and serves on the Legislature’s Government Oversight Committee and Judiciary Committee.

The Clary Lake Association Momentum Committee would like members of the public to take part in its first-ever event – a boat-launch cleanup party. The committee is looking for volunteers to help clear out rocks from in front of the public boat launch, making it more usable both now and when the water level is finally restored (hopefully this fall/winter).

On Saturday, Aug. 27, the Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum will hold its second ice cream social of the 2016 summer season. Come ride the 12:30, 1:30 or 2:30 p.m. trains and enjoy free ice cream with all the toppings while listening to music performed by Jud Caswell. Regular fares will apply to all trains. The WW&F Railway Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and teaching the transportation heritage of Maine’s Sheepscot River Valley.

The last concert of the 2016 summer series at the Cottage in the Woods will be held on Saturday, Aug. 27. Ice cream will be served, followed by the concert, featuring Heaven’s Blend.

A love offering will be taken, but there is no charge for the concert.

Ice cream sundaes with homemade hot fudge and butterscotch topping will be served, along with homemade cookies and brownies. Coffee, tea, water, iced tea, and lemonade will also be available. Ice cream will also be served after the concert as people are invited to stay and fellowship.

An evening lantern lit tour will explore Boothbay Harbor, discovering ghosts and history, spirits and mystery. Buildings that once seemed ordinary will take on eerie new dimensions as The Lady in the Red Cloak relives their history and that of the ghostly entities that are said to still reside there.
