Lecture by Libby Bischof, Professor of History at the University of Southern Maine, and Executive Director of the Osher Map Library and Smith Center for Cartographic Education. Her illustrated talk will focus on 20th century Maine women writers and artists of note, and their relationship to place.

Led by the mysterious “Lady in the Red Cloak” with her lantern, you will see buildings that once seemed ordinary but will take on eerie new dimensions as she relives their history, and that of the ghosts that are said to still reside there. Wind through the back streets and learn the early history of Damariscotta, visit the
site of countless seances, experience the haunted Maine Hotel, take a trip by the river and hear about Grandpa’s Ghost.
