Happenings
As we head into the holiday weekend, we hope you’ll join us for the “Wrap it Up” festivities from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 22 to pick up the perfect stocking stuffer – a Lincoln Theater gift card! “Arrival” — featuring Amy Adams’ Golden Globe-nominated best actress performance — opens on Friday, Dec. 23. We will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 24 and 25, so that our staff can enjoy the holidays with their families. We wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas.
‘Moonlight’ (R; 1 hour, 51 minutes)
The winner of more than 30 awards and currently the leading contender and most talked-about film for winning the next Academy Award for Best Picture, “Moonlight” tells the timeless story of human connection and self-discovery. The film chronicles the life of a young black man from childhood to adulthood as he struggles to find his place in the world while growing up in a rough neighborhood in Miami. ‘Arrival’ (PG-13; 1 hour, 56 minutes)
When mysterious spacecraft touch down across the globe, an elite team led by expert linguist Louise Banks (played by Amy Adams) is brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers — and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity.
