The skills and techniques necessary to be a responsible, competent, and fun babysitter will be taught in a one-day class offered by Central Lincoln County Adult Education from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23.
This course, designed for students ages 11-14, will cover such topics as: child-care essentials, the proper response and handling of emergency situations, behavior management, safety for the sitter, and babysitting as a business. Students should bring a lunch and a snack. However, they should not bring any electronics or phones. A certificate is issued upon successful completion of the course.
The class will be held at LincolnHealth Education Center, located at 66 Chapman St., Damariscotta. The cost of the course is $44 if one registers online and uses the promo code “EARLYBIRD” by Thursday, Feb. 16 and $49 for all other registrations. Space is limited.
