The Bristol-South Bristol-area Boat Poker Run will take place Sunday, Sept. 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to raise money for a local family who is in need of home repairs. There is $500 in cash prizes thus far.
The stops so far are:
Coveside restaurant
Gamage Shipyard — on the dock
South Bristol Fisherman’s Co-op
The Contented Sole — on the dock
Dee’s Variety
Hanley’s Market
The Harbor Room restaurant
Shaw’s Wharf
There is a $20 donation per hand; one can play as many hands and stops as one would like (one can can start one’s hand at any stop). One does not have to have a boat to participate — get a group together and go by cars, trucks, motorcycles, or boats.
It will be Five Card Stud, so one can improve odds by making more stops. A show of hands will be at Shaw’s Wharf at 3 p.m. There will be prizes for the top three hands.
There will also be a 50-50 raffle, at $1 per ticket.
