Bristol residents are invited to participate in a community climate workshop to be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, at the Bristol town office, 1268 Bristol Road (Route 130).
At the workshop, Bristol residents can join town officials and representatives of the Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission, and Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust to learn about the local impacts of climate change and to share their thoughts on what the town should do to prepare for the future.
The town is currently working with service providers from Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust and the Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission to enroll in the state of Maine’s Community Resilience Partnership.
Enrollment in the program makes the town eligible for grants for climate action projects.
The June 20 workshop will include a brief introduction to the Community Resilience Partnership, highlights of local climate impacts in Bristol, and a group discussion period for climate priority setting. Refreshments will be provided.
The public’s feedback at the workshop will help town officials and service providers determine how climate change is affecting residents and what Bristol should do to address these challenges.
Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to RSVP by going to: bit.ly/Bristol-RSVP.
Bristol residents are also encouraged to complete a survey to help the town identify which climate concerns, projects, and strategies are of the highest priority. The survey is anonymous and takes 5-10 minutes. Responses will be accepted until Tuesday, June 18.
To access the survey online go to bit.ly/Bristol_Survey.
Paper copies of the survey are available at the Bristol town office.
