The Family Fun Fair in Bristol Mills will be held Saturday, Aug. 4 at the Congregational Church of Bristol, 1263 Bristol Road, Bristol Mills. The hours are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., but a pancake breakfast will be served from 8-9 a.m. for the hungry early birds. The silent auction will end at 1 p.m.
What is a family fun fair? It is what some may refer to as a “country fair.” There is food, of course, starting with coffee and doughnuts, a pancake breakfast, hot dogs, a variety of freshly made sandwiches, delicious lobster rolls, home-baked goodies, and free popcorn.
Beyond the food, this fair has a variety of items for sale.
An art show will be held in the church library. Many local artisans will have a large display of items to choose from. There will be everything from shell mirrors by Janet Lockhart to jewelry, cards, and array of other handmade items made by talented local craftspeople.
At the yard sale, one will find a very large assortment of items to choose from, all at bargain prices. The book table is a big attraction as well.
Live music will be performed throughout the day by two local favorites. Jan Bacon is back by popular demand as are The Rusty Hinges, a group of lively and fun musicians.
A bounce house is a big attraction for the kids. It is provided free of charge and is always a hit.
The Family Fun Fair is a few hours of fun, food, shopping, an art show, a silent auction, flowers for the table, a lobster candy pop, and simply a few hours of a good time.
