Shortcakes with homemade biscuits, whipped cream, and Round Top vanilla ice cream — that’s how the Bunker Hill Ladies Aid has made its delicious strawberry shortcakes for 48 years.
The members of the group will be ready to serve from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, June 26 at the top of Bunker Hill on Route 213, Jefferson. The public is invited to come and enjoy the scrumptious shortcakes, handmade crafts, and unsurpassed view of Damariscotta Lake. Coffee and punch may also be purchased.
Additionally, the members of the Bunker Hill Ladies Aid have been busy this year making great crafts: lovely necklaces; both lavender and balsam sachets; knitted pieces for babies, children, and adults; casserole covers; and, of course, a couple of fantastically fun pillowcases.
All items are unique and useful, and make delightful gifts. Proceeds will go toward maintenance of the Bunker Hill Church and the Bunker Hill Ladies Aid Hall, as well as local community projects.
