Come and celebrate the wonderful Irish heritage that was instrumental in the formation of St. Patrick Church in Newcastle on Saturday, March 17.
As in years past, the Shamrocks will be hosting a traditional corned beef dinner (roast chicken is an option) with all the usual side dishes, including home baked Irish soda breads and dessert in Cheverus Hall on the grounds of St. Patrick Church, 380 Academy Hill Rd. in Newcastle.
Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. and tickets are $15 each for adults or $40 for a family.
The dinner features performances once again by the Murphy Family, John Reinhardt, and the Tolley Sisters. Join in the fun and sing along to traditional Irish songs. Raffles will include two gift baskets: a basket of traditional Irish products as well as a Lucky Shamrock Lottery.
In addition to our celebration, the History Project of St. Patrick will present “Monuments of Faith,” a tribute to the families who helped build Old St. Patrick Church. On display will be artifacts and memorabilia belonging to the Cottrills, Kavanaghs, Hanlys, and Madigans.
Tickets will be available after all Saturday and Sunday masses on March 3 and 4 as well as March 10 and 11 or by calling Lynn Maloney at 798-2831. Tickets will not be available at the door.
May the Irish hills caress you.
May her lakes and rivers bless you.
May the luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
