Clamshell Quilters will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 11 at Faith Baptist Church, 144 Mills Road, Newcastle. Host Judy Sala will show attendees how to make a fabric bowl out of clothesline and fabric strips. She predicts everyone should go home with a completed project.
Attendees should bring: a sewing machine with a zigzag stitch, a machine foot to accommodate it, and a size 90/14 needle; 1.25 to 1.5 inch fabric strips, scrappy or color-coordinated (or use the scrap fabric available at the meeting); thread in either a neutral color or to match fabric, along with two full bobbins to match one’s thread; and scissors. Sala will provide a kit for $3 with enough cording for a bowl, a clip, and some tape.
Guests and visitors are welcome.
