Kids are invited to become history detectives and experience archaeology firsthand at Colonial Pemaquid State Historic Site from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18. Each participant will unearth mysterious artifacts, and then determine their use and history while learning the skills of an archaeologist. Each participant will receive a junior archaeologist certificate and photograph of their completed find.
The event will take place at Colonial Pemaquid’s Fort William Henry, 2 Colonial Pemaquid Drive, New Harbor (Bristol). The program is free and designed for youth ages 5-12 years old, but all ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The experience will be led by Dr. Neill DePaoli, historic site manager, historian, and archaeologist.
