Businesses, organizations, and individuals with documents to shred are invited to the Damariscotta Region Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural Fall Shred Event on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Lincoln County Publishing Co. in Newcastle.
A 10,000-pound capacity shred truck will be at the publishing company from 9 a.m. to noon. Visitors will have the choice of paying $10 per box or bag of documents to be shredded or donating a new and unopened school-supply item per box or bag to be shredded. A portion of the funds raised from the event will be used to purchase supplies for local elementary and middle schools.
To ensure everyone has a chance to shred his or her documents, each person is limited to five boxes or bags.
Louis Doe Home Center, Chapman & Chapman Insurance, Servpro of Bath-Brunswick, and Damariscotta Bank & Trust are sponsoring the event. Coastal Car Wash and Detail Center, Lincoln County Publishing Co., and Without a Trace Mobile Shredding are providing additional support for the event.
The Fall Shred Event coincides with Newcastle Cares Day.
