To honor Edgecomb’s 250th birthday, Ryan McPherson, owner of Glidden Point Oyster Farms, has invited residents to visit his oyster farm on the Damariscotta River for a special event Saturday, May 18.
During the event, which will take place after the annual town meeting, McPhearson will provide free afternoon tours with an opportunity to learn about how Damariscotta oysters are grown and harvested. Tours will take place at 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m.
Oysters and other refreshments will be available.
Glidden Point Oyster Farm is located at 637 River Road in Edgecomb.
