People are invited to join in the harvest fun and go leaf-peeping with baby goats at Pumpkin Vine Family Farm in Somerville on Sunday, Oct. 6 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Farm Harvest Festival.
Pick the perfect pumpkin, husk multicolored corn, and press a glass of apple cider to enjoy with freshly baked doughnuts while browsing the craft tents. Talented local artisans are bringing amazing 100%-handmade (handspun, -dyed and -knitted!) woolens, adorable felted friends, gorgeous and hand-turned wooden bowls, and there will even be a glass blowing demonstration!
Kids get a free dancing gourd (a traditional farm toy) and can make a corn bracelet to enjoy all winter. The farmers market will have recipes, samples, a raffle, and, of course, the tastiest local food, prepared with love and hard work for their local “foodshed” (that means the public!).
Be sure to bring walking shoes and a camera to join the farm guides for a fall foliage hike around the farm – the goat youngsters are excited to show everyone around.
