The Central Lincoln County YMCA and Hannaford Supermarket, at 469 Main St, in Damariscotta, will host a Fill the Y Bus food drive in front of the supermarket on Tuesday, May 16 from 1-6 p.m. to collect food items to help support food pantries within Lincoln County.
The community is invited to help fill the bus. Specific requests coming from the food pantries include canned milk, crackers, chicken noodle soup, tuna fish and other canned fish, tomato and spaghetti sauce, tomato paste, chopped tomatoes, chicken broth, canned gravy, stuffing mix, taco shells, condiments, Jiffy muffin mixes, paper towels, laundry detergent, and dish soap.
“Fill the Y Bus brings much-needed relief to the community throughout the year and we look forward to assisting individuals and families in Lincoln County,” said Karen-Ann Hagar, YMCA program coordinator. Hannaford Supermarket and YMCA staff and volunteers, including kids in the Y’s Teen Leaders Club, will be on-site to accept donations, greet and thank community members for their generosity, and deliver donations to the pantries.
