The Boothbay Region Community Band will open the celebration with a performance on the gazebo. A chicken barbecue with all the fixings will follow, as well as kids games and live music from local musicians. The Boothbay Fire Department will run a dunk tank.
At 2 p.m., Saturday, July 2, the Colonial Pemaquid State Historic Site will host its annual reading of the Declaration of Independence with commentary by living history interpreters.
The Wiscasset Yacht Club will host a strawberry shortcake social from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the announcement of the parade prize winners at noon. The Salty Dogs will perform on the yacht club pier throughout the social.
A boat parade around the harbor will begin at 8:55 p.m., and a fireworks display over the Sheepscot River will begin at 9 p.m.
