Fourth of July Events

BoothbayFrom 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Boothbay Civic Association will host its 30th annual celebration on the town common.

The Boothbay Region Community Band will open the celebration with a performance on the gazebo. A chicken barbecue with all the fixings will follow, as well as kids games and live music from local musicians. The Boothbay Fire Department will run a dunk tank.

Boothbay HarborFireworks at 9 p.m.

BristolThe Round Pond parade will start at Masters Machine Co. on Lower Round Pond Road at noon. The parade will proceed to Route 32, turn left, and continue through the village, ending at the Padebco storage facility on Route 32.

At 2 p.m., Saturday, July 2, the Colonial Pemaquid State Historic Site will host its annual reading of the Declaration of Independence with commentary by living history interpreters.

DamariscottaThe Damariscotta Fireworks Festival will begin at 6 p.m. in the municipal parking lot, with food and live music from the Dyer Neck Gang from 6-9 p.m. The fireworks display over the Damariscotta River will begin at dusk.

NewcastleMembers of the St. Patrick’s History Project will ring the historic Paul Revere Bell at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 380 Academy Hill Road, Newcastle, at noon.

WhitefieldA parade will start in Kings Mills at 10 a.m. and a cake walk, country auction, games, and a white elephant sale will follow, with plenty of food available.

WiscassetA Hometown USA-themed parade will begin at 10 a.m. and proceed from Hooper Street to Federal Street, Main Street, and Middle Street. A veterans memorial salute and flag-raising will take place on the waterfront at 11 a.m.

The Wiscasset Yacht Club will host a strawberry shortcake social from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the announcement of the parade prize winners at noon. The Salty Dogs will perform on the yacht club pier throughout the social.

A boat parade around the harbor will begin at 8:55 p.m., and a fireworks display over the Sheepscot River will begin at 9 p.m.
