The movie “Before the Flood” will be shown on Sunday, June 11 at 2 p.m. at Great Salt Bay Community School in Damariscotta. Admission is free, and popcorn and drinks will be provided.
This event is being put on by a seventh-grade student at Great Salt Bay in Michael Stenstrom’s class, who learned about global warming this year. “What I learned made me worry about what me and my classmates’ future will be like,” said the student. “After talking about global warming with my mom, we came up with the idea to show a movie. I then watched two movies about global warming and chose ‘Before the Flood,’ which is about global warming and what it is doing to the Earth.
“I want to show ‘Before the Flood’ because I want to make people more aware of global warming, and help people take action to stop it,” the student said. “I want to stop polluting our planet, and I hope other people want that, too. We can all do something, and one of the things you can do is come see the movie about global warming, and what we are doing to our planet. I hope to see you there.”
