People are invited to join Rising Tide Community Market Outreach Coordinator Anna DeGloria, a plant enthusiast and Wild Seed Project volunteer, to learn about native plants of Maine and how to prepare seed bombs for the garden or for a friend as an eco-friendly gift just in time for the holidays. DeGloria’s free workshop will take place from noon-2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3 at Rising Tide Community Market, 323 Main St., Damariscotta.
Small balls of clay, compost, and seeds are a fun and easy way to disperse the seed of some of Maine’ s native plants. In this afternoon workshop, one will make seed bombs with wildflowers for sunny, shady, and wet habitats. Learn which wildflower species are likely to be successful with this kind of guerrilla planting and go home with some seed bombs of these beautiful native plants that support pollinators, birds, and other wildlife.
Space is limited, so RSVP by email to anna.d@risingtide.coop.
