The Good Supply in Pemaquid will open its restored post-and-beam barn for holiday shopping on Saturday, Nov. 24 and Sunday, Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Opening day marks Small Business Saturday, and The Good Supply will partner with Alna-based small business owner Rachel Alexandrou, of Which Way Wreaths, to host a wreath and garland pickup event.
The shop will be stocked with unique and handmade gifts representing 90 local artists to help one make headway on one’s holiday shopping list. Seasonal refreshments will be served.
Wreaths, six-foot garlands, swags, and room sprays will be for sale. Prices start at $17.
“My wreaths are based on a love for botany, which is why I enjoy harvesting more than just the traditional balsam,” said Alexandrou. “I combine as many conifers or plants with ornamental berries that I can get my hands on to create unique botanical arrangements.”
Among Alexandrou’s trove of ornamental greens are juniper, pine, hemlock, cedar, spruce, winterberry, and rosehips.
“It’s a wonderful time to visit the barn,” said The Good Supply’s proprietor Catherine McLetchie. “We festoon the beams with garlands and lights, serve hot drinks and holiday treats, and keep it toasty warm. It feels like a scene right out of a storybook, and it is wonderful to have the community come together.”
As always, complimentary gift wrapping in festive colors will be available, along with a selection of holiday cards.
The barn storefront is located at 2106 Bristol Road in Pemaquid (Bristol) and is open for holiday shopping from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 24 and 25 as well as on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 15 and 16 for last-minute shoppers.
The Good Supply is always open online at thegoodsupply.org.
