NOTE: Date changed from Sunday to Saturday.
What better place to celebrate Halloween than on a farm? Members of the public are invited for games, crafts, and great food at the Halloween Farm Fete at Pumpkin Vine Family Farm in Somerville on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
People are encouraged to come in costume or slip into a straw hat and overalls at the farm’s funny farmer photo booth. The first 20 children get to decorate a free mini pumpkin; every child gets a free dancing gourd. Play pumpkin games, including relay races, ring toss, and tic tac toe. Make an acorn pumpkin and a mini witch’s broom.
Need some tips on pumpkin carving? Check out the farm’s gallery of amazing pumpkin art, and be inspired. Have a masterpiece at home? Enter it in the contest!
The farmers market will have spooky cookies, doughnuts, and pumpkin smoothies to snack on; be sure to bring your market basket and load up with veggies, meat, dairy, baked goods — and yes, we still have carving pumpkins.
The farm is located at 217 Hewett Road in Somerville; email info@pumpkinvinefamilyfarm.com or call Kelly at 549-3096 for more information. This is a weather-dependent event – in case of rain, call 549-5089 to find out if it has been canceled.
