Join in the fun of Halloween on the farm with a special celebration of the harvest and fall crafts on Sunday, Oct. 29 from noon-4 p.m. at Pumpkin Vine Family Farm, located at 217 Hewett Road in Somerville. The farm invites all ages to learn how to make a corn husk doll or create a mini acorn pumpkin. People will be pressing cider, and there will be doughnuts and spooky cookies for sale.
Attendees are invited to come and sample some delicious heirloom squash varieties, hot off the grill, and enjoy the bounty and beauty of the farm in fall. Help shell some dry beans and corn; one will be amazed at the colors discovered! Costumes are welcome, but not required, as every child will receive a free Tennessee dancing gourd, a traditional Southern toy grown at Pumpkin Vine Family Farm.
