The Westport Volunteer Fire Department, in conjunction with the Westport Community Association, will hold an annual picnic on Saturday, July 8 at 5:30 p.m. at 644 Main Road, Westport Island. The menu features grilled chicken, coleslaw, baked beans, hot dogs, corn on the cob, and a great assortment of desserts. There will be entertainment by the bluegrass band Back to Basics. There will also be an assortment of activities such as “Dunk the Fire Chief,” an arcade game, and a game involving a water fire extinguisher. There is no charge for this event but donations are greatly appreciated.
