Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District will hold an environmental education fundraiser at Flatbread Company, at 100 Commercial St./Route 1 in Rockport, on Tuesday, March 12 from 5-9 p.m.
Flatbread Company will donate a portion of all pizza sales from the evening in support of the conservation district’s K-12 education programs, which are offered free to all Knox and Lincoln county students throughout the year. These programs include the Conservation Education Fair at Union Fairgrounds in September for middle and elementary students, the national conservation poster contest for grades kindergarten through five, Read Me Agriculture for grades kindergarten through four, and the Maine Envirothon competition for grades nine through 12.
All who attend will have the chance to view the winning entries from this year’s conservation poster contest, “Life in the Soil: Dig Deeper.”
This winter, Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District program manager Rebecca Jacobs presented learning sessions about healthy soil to over 30 Knox and Lincoln county kindergarten through fifth-grade classrooms and received 301 poster contest submissions.
In addition to great food and art, there will be an assortment of fabulous raffle prizes.
