On Friday, May 26 at 4 p.m., Lincoln Academy in Newcastle will dedicate its new John Bowers Baseball Field. John Bowers was a Lincoln Academy graduate in the Class of 1975 who was an avid baseball player. He served on the Lincoln Academy Board of Trustees for many years before passing away in 2011.
The field is already in use by the LA baseball teams. Immediately following the short dedication ceremony, the varsity team will take on Medomak Valley High School in a home game. Spectators are invited to watch the ceremony and stay for the game.
The dedication ceremony will take place rain or shine, even if the baseball game is postponed due to weather.
