Lincoln Academy Alumni Weekend, sponsored by the Lincoln Academy Alumni Council and Development Office will be held Thursday-Sunday, June 15-18.
The Harold Castner Gavel, first presented in 1957 to Barry Witham, and to be used every 50 years at LA graduation, will be used by the Class of 2017. It should have been used by the Class of 2007 but was overlooked. Witham will be attending for his 60th reunion that weekend.
There are several activities planned for Lincoln Academy Alumni Weekend, starting with an On the Water event on June 15 from 5-7 p.m. at Schooner Landing in Damariscotta. Live music and hors d’oeuvres will be provided.
The first annual Black and White Golf Tournament will be held at Wawenock Golf Club on Friday, June 16 at 11 a.m. The Head of School Reception will follow at Borland Hall from 5-7 p.m. that evening.
On Saturday, June 17, alumni softball and baseball games will be held. The baseball alumni game will be held at 10 a.m. on the new John Bowers Baseball Field. The alumni softball game will be held at 11 a.m. on the refurbished softball field. The William A. Clark turf field will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for all to enjoy. There will be other on-campus activities as well.
The traditional alumni banquet will be held in the dining commons on Saturday, June 17 at 4 p.m., with a social with music and a wine-and-beer cash bar. A buffet dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. The Alumni Council will hold its annual meeting, class comments, and awards ceremony starting at 6 p.m.
The Soaring Eagle Alumni Dance will be held at Round Top Farms in Damariscotta from 8 p.m. to midnight with Corey Redonett’s Misery Gulch band providing the music.
Lincoln Academy Alumni Weekend will conclude on Sunday with a farewell breakfast in the school’s dining commons from 9-11 a.m.
