One can spice things up by joining Stonewall Kitchen cooking instructor Chris Toy for a class called “Mexican Night –- Make Your Own Tortilla Press.” The course is being offer through Central Lincoln County Adult Education on Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 5:30-8 p.m. at Nobleboro Central School, 194 Center St., Nobleboro.
During this one-night course, students will make their own tortilla press for fresh corn tortillas. Afterwards, participants will fill them with tasty salsa, rice, chipotle beef, cheese, and fresh lettuce. Students will also make an easy cold avocado soup. Those who attend class will go home with full stomachs, new recipes, and their own tortilla press.
This class is a great option for both vegetarian and gluten-free diets. Bring a Phillips screwdriver for assembly. Materials fee and all food costs are included in the cost of the course. The course fee is $49.
To register, call Central Lincoln County Adult Education at 563-2811, email clcae@aos93.org, go to clc.maineadulted.org, or stop by the office, at 767 Main St., Damariscotta.
