Nobleboro Historical Society’s annual AppleFest will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Nobleboro Central School, 194 Center St., and the historical center at 198 Center St., Nobleboro. As always, there will be food and entertainment for everyone and a time to visit with neighbors; listen to the Damariscotta Lake Country Band’s down-home music; get a homemade apple pie, apples, and cheese from Beth’s Farm; and enjoy lunch and one of Fondy York’s fresh hot doughnuts. Original handmade crafts and many silent-auction items will be on hand, and local business tables will offer special things for people to buy. The NCS eighth-graders will have a food table to support their class project.
AppleFest admission is free. There will be drawings for free prizes, too.
The Leadership School at Kieve-Wavus is donating for the 10th year its enthusiastic staff and climbing wall to provide many fun games, with prizes for kids of all ages and creative face-painting, too. The climbing wall is an adventure and challenge for kids.
The proceeds from AppleFest will help support the historical society’s scholarships for Nobleboro students and residents, the preservation of local history, and the educational programs for NCS students and the public, as well as the NCS eight-grade class project.
