The Summer of Praise under the tent at the top of the hill, across from Ralph’s Homes on Route One in Waldoboro, will have its final concert for the season with a return visit of the bluegrass style of the local band Northern Breeze at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26. Founded by Gene and Patty Fowler of the town of Washington, the group also features Josh Dyer and Mike Lash. Gene Fowler plays the banjo and guitar and sings backup to Patty Fowler’s voice. Patty also plays the mandolin. Dyer is a talented guitarist and backup and lead singer. Lash rounds out the sound with his bass-playing. The band’s purpose is to convey the love of God through its music and to lift up the name of Jesus in worship.
On Sunday evening, Aug. 28, at 6 p.m., all are invited to come to a time of worship and ministry. Several area churches have been coming together on Sunday evenings at the tent and this week the message will be shared by Pastor Mark Holden of the North Waldoboro and Union Churches of the Nazarene.
All events will be held rain or shine, and all are welcome. Bring a lawn chair or cushion if folding metal chairs are too uncomfortable. A goodwill offering will be taken to help cover traveling and other expenses.
