The newly named Parent Program of Mid-Coast Maine Inc., formerly known as the Teen and Young Parent Program of Knox County Inc., will be holding a silent auction fundraising event at Skidompha Library, at 184 Main St. in Damariscotta, beginning Monday, Sept. 25 through Tuesday, Oct. 3. The Parent Program of Mid-Coast Maine Inc. offers the Maine Families Program for Knox, Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties. It has changed its name to better reflect the population that it serves. Through this program, trained parent educators provide free home-visiting services for any parent who is pregnant or has a newborn. Utilizing the Parents as Teachers model, the organization offers parenting support, research-based information, and fun activities parents can do with their babies to promote optimal development. The Parent Program of Mid-Coast Maine Inc. is committed to building strong nurturing communities for all families.
