Members of the public are invited to come to The Lincoln Home in Newcastle on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 4 p.m. for the second annual Lobster and More event. The Lincoln Home hosts this special fundraiser to support its Resident Financial Aid Fund and bring the community together for a fun evening. For the last 10 years, The Lincoln Home has provided more than $200,000 a year of free housing and health care to residents in need and does not receive any state or federal monies.
Dine on delicious Maine lobsters, mouthwatering barbecued chicken, Maine blueberry desserts, beer, and wine, all on the banks of the Damariscotta River next to the Lincoln Home. Twenty artists will exhibit work for sale in the art tent. Attendees are asked to vote for their favorite piece of art and three cash People’s Choice Awards will be given to the artists chosen. Dance to lively bluegrass music provided by Sandy River Bluegrass. Bring summer guests to join in the fun and meet some of the great people in the community.
Advance tickets are $45 per person and those under age 10 are free. Tickets are available at The Lincoln Home, located at 22 River Road in Newcastle, or by calling 563-3350. Tickets at the door will be $50 per person.
