The fourth annual Shrove Tuesday, or Fat Tuesday, pancake supper will be held at the Second Congregational Church, UCC in Newcastle on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. in the church’s fellowship hall. Shrove Tuesday is the last day of Mardi Gras, and the last day before Lent.
The pancake supper will be a meal of pancakes of many kinds — plain, blueberry, raspberry, chocolate, and whatever else the church’s clever and talented cooks can come up with. Along with pancakes, there will be bacon, sausage, and sauteed fruits, all served with real maple syrup and butter. Food will be served until it runs out, so people are advised to come early.
The meal is free, but any free-will offerings will go to local needs.
The Second Congregational Church is located at 51 Main St., Newcastle.
