Skidompha Library will host the “Through the Pages” costume ball on Friday, Feb. 22 from 6:30 to 11 p.m. This costume ball will benefit the Lincoln County News digital archive project. Skidompha has independently raised $40,000 to create a searchable online archive of Lincoln County newspapers dating all the way back to 1870. This will be the first time that back issues will be available to the public digitally, providing an invaluable resource for researchers, historians, and the community.
“Through the Pages” will be hosted at Skidompha Library, located at 184 Main St. in Damariscotta. Tickets will be available for purchase at the library’s front desk starting on Wednesday, Jan. 16 for $10 per ticket. All proceeds will go to support the Lincoln County News digitization project.
Live musical entertainment and light bites are included with the ticket price and beverages will be for sale. There will also be a limited-edition newspaper-themed art print for sale, along with a silent auction and other ways to donate to the project.
